Electro professionals who have acquired professional qualifications abroad
The term electro professionals, means persons belonging to the profession group electrical skilled worker and the profession group person who has the professional responsibility for work related to electrical installations. In this guide, you will find instructions on how to apply for approval to work in a profession within these profession groups in Norway.
How do I apply?
There are separate rules for persons with professional qualifications acquired in a country within EU/EEA, and for those who acquired their qualifications in a country outside EU/EEA. Choose the right instructions on how to apply dependent on what country you acquired your professional qualifications:

Enterprises must be registered
The management of an Enterprises that perform work related to electrical installations and repair of electrical equipment is cf. the regulations for electrical enterprises and qualification requirements for work related to electrical installations and electrical equipment (fek), obligated to register the Enterprise into Elvirksomhetsregisteret (the Norwegian register of enterprises that design, install and maintain electrical installations and electrical equipment). The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) is the owner of the register.
Enterprises which have an obligation to be registered into Elvirksomhetsregisteret, must in advance be registered into Brønnøysundregisterene, (the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises) to get a Norwegian organization number.
Registration must be done at brreg.no
Registration into Elvirksomhetsregisteret must be done at Altinn
Your enterprise can offer to perform and perform work related to electrical installations and electrical equipment after receiving a receipt from Altinn, confirming successful registration.
