Poland – Home Affairs Programme

In Poland, DSB is the Donor Program Partner (DPP) for the Home Affairs Programme. Polish Program Operator (PO) is the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

The programme aims at strengthening the ability to ensure civil rights and protection of citizens – crucial elements for an inclusive society and sustainable growth.

The programme covers three targeted programme areas:

  • No. 18: Asylum and Migration
  • No. 20: International Police Cooperation and Combating Crime
  • No. 23: Disaster Prevention and Preparedness

Of particular interest to DSB is enhancing cooperation in the area of disaster prevention and preparedness between relevant Polish and Norwegian authorities. Man-made and natural disasters are increasing as a result of the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, demographic pressure and more intensive use of land.

Ensuring efficient strategies for regional and national preparedness and emergency planning is a priority for national authorities. The programme will provide support for the improvement of crisis preparedness.

The programme shall support the outcome Enhanced prevention and preparedness to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives hazards in Poland through the predefined project The process of coordination and standardisation in the field of CBRNE as an element of prevention, preparedness and response.

DSB and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) participate as donor project partner for this project.  The aim of the project is improved disaster resilience, under programme area 23 'Disaster prevention and preparedness'.
