DSBs role
DSB contributes to needs-based humanitarian assistance to people hit by man-made and natural disasters.
Humanitarian assistance is offered in close collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations, and the European Commission.
In addition to humanitarian assistance, DSB organizes courses for international disaster relief personnel in cooperation with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and other international organizations, and participates in international cooperation on disaster prevention.
